River designed a 500-page book by Naomi Pollock, published by Thames & Hudson, that systematically introduces post-war Japanese design. The book features the work of 160 designers, ranging from interiors, home appliances, cars, trains, posters, fabrics, to miscellaneous goods. Although the book is in English, Japanese characters and Kanji numerals were used for titles, designer names, and folios.
